Everyone homeschools, some just do it all the time...

Parents have a right to direct the education and upbringing of their children. This web site is a clearinghouse of information that will enable Vermont homeschoolers to exercise, promote, and protect this right through homeschooling. This web site does not promote or advocate any particular educational approach, religious conviction, political stance, or any other view or philosophy of homeschooling parents. This is left to the individual homeschooler or support group.

One message, many voices...

Homeschoolers are a diverse and often divergent group of people. Despite our differences we must work together to protect homeschooling freedoms for all. This network and web site will hopefully accomplish this. No support group or homeschooler will be bound by any “format” nor need feel subjugated to the network. We are all simply another node within the network of homeschooling. Here parents and local support groups can maintain their independence while networking with other homeschoolers and groups to exercise and protect the freedom to homeschool.

From the inside the Home to inside the State House...

There is a wide spectrum of network activity that all homeschoolers do to varying degrees. This activity ranges from “I just want to homeschool and be left alone” to “I want to be involved in advocating.” The homeschooling movement needs all of these levels of activity to promote and protect homeschooling in Vermont. Each homeschooler picks the degree to which they wish to be involved.

Parents are essential...

We hope that you can find or create a local support group to connect with others about the day to day happenings of homeschooling. For those that can not find a local support group there is a message board you can turn to for connecting to other homeschoolers. We wish to applaud and support parents who choose to take back the responsibility for the education of their children whether they began homeschooling as a first choice, second choice, or last resort.
